Brian is Athlete Of The Week!
Congratulations to Brian who was recognized as Athlete Of The Week at CrossFit Amundson. Brian is one of our gyms sponsored Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighters from Claudio Franca Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and his skill on the mat is only equal to his kindness and humbleness off the mat. A quick story on what sets Brian apart from his competitors: Last weekend at the prestigious US Open Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament in Santa Cruz, CA., Brian was in a position to win the gold medal when the unthinkable happened; Brian was face to face with a fellow teammate. Rather than fighting his teammate, Brian “bowed out” and sent his teammate to the semi-finals, where another teammate awaited. At the end of the day, Claudio Franca’s team swept the division, Brian sitting in third place, based on his humble decision to send a teammate forward. Brian sets a positive example for our gym to follow, and exemplifies the character values of kindness, goodwill, service, and work-ethic. Congratulations Brian on all your success!
