"Hello Mr. Amundson. My original background is in martial arts, teaching Taekwondo and Kickboxing. Since I've discovered CrossFit I've never been in better shape in my life. I've never felt better, never been faster, never lifted more, or more importantly to me, never been mentally stronger than I am now. When I began training, simply attempting the WODs was satisfying enough at first. Then setting goals helped keep me motivated (double body weight deadlift, improved Fran, linking muscle-ups). But now I'm consistently motivated to just be a better me thanks to your mental reworkings! I recently watched your lecture on leadership and mental workouts at the CrossFit One facility at Reebok HQ and it was the most eye opening, light bulb moment I've had in CrossFit to date. Equal to any PR! I've literally set free my anxiety over certain WODs or techniques. Your energy and enthusiasm is palpable through the screen and your examples and metaphors are inspiring! Stand Up Paddle

Our Stand Up Paddle (SUP) class is AWESOME. In 2014, our gym created a partnership with SurfTech and purchased 5 new SUP Boards and a custom roof-rack for the EPIC Fitness Van. This class is designed to get people “Outside The Box” and onto the water in a safe yet challenging environment. Last season, many of our Athletes attempted SUP for the first time, and absolutely loved it. This class is instructed by seasoned Watermen who have experience teaching swimming, SUP, and other water sports. This class meets on Thursday at 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM between the months of May and September. Our season in 2014 ended with a heroic 2 mile round-trip paddle by 9 men from CrossFit Amundson all the way to the Santa Cruz Nautical 1 Mile Buoy. Check back soon for the 2015 season schedule!
